All In Alliances to cook up community support with a free BBQ this August

Residents in Braintree and Witham are invited to share their thoughts on community issues at two fun days this month.

The All In Alliance groups were created by Eastlight Community Homes, last year for residents who want to make a difference in their community.

So far, more than 300 residents have met up at quarterly meetings and agreed how they will take action to tackle the issues that matter most in their communities.

This month, the Alliances are hosting two Saturday drop-in sessions in Braintree and Witham to find out how we can overcome two obstacles together.

The sessions will give local people the opportunity to share their ideas and feedback through surveys whilst enjoying family-friendly games and a free BBQ.

In Braintree, the community will be helping to shape the formation of a Community Hub that will provide a space for local people to frequently come together.

In Witham, residents will be able to work with an action group who are tackling parking issues in the town.

The meetings are:

  • Braintree: Saturday, 19 August at Glebe Community Hall (CM7 5RB) between 2.30pm-4.30pm.
  • Witham: Saturday, 12 August at Dengie Halls (CM8 1DJ) between 2-4pm.

Lauren Brimson, Eastlight’s Community Engagement Officer, said: “The Alliances are a fantastic opportunity to get involved with creating solutions to local issues that impact our communities. Our summer meetings are a great place for local people of all ages to come along and tell us about their experiences and ideas to make our towns a better place. We encourage everyone to come along and share their stories, eat food and meet their neighbours.”
