Grow with the Flow

Nurturing your period power.

“Period shouldn’t be a dirty word in 2023.”

Did you know that 85% of girls have tried to hide the fact that they are on their period from those around them? That’s simply not good enough in 2023.

So, we’re on a mission to boost young women’s confidence, nurture their understanding of menstrual health and grow a period positive community through Grow with the Flow.

Through a series of workshops at local schools in Halstead, we’ve created an ever-growing network of ‘Flow Sisters’ to support their peers with their periods. Our Flow Sisters are knowledgeable and ready to nurture their period power.

During our pilot programme, we encouraged our girls to ask questions about their bodies. We also used games to build relationships and start conversations around menstrual health, and we’ve since seen them flourish into confident young women who are no longer embarrassed about their periods.

After just six weeks of Grow with the Flow, every single one of our girls said they would recommend the programme to others. A whopping 100% of them also now feel more confident with their menstrual health and would seek help from a ‘Flow Sister’. Amazing!

But what did our new Flow Sisters think of Grow with the Flow?

“Why can’t we learn like this in science?”

“Always informative. Always comfortable and good discussion. Any questions are always answered with good knowledge.”

“I feel more educated in these sessions than I do at school.”

We want to continue building our network of Flow Sisters, and recently, we were invited to 10 Downing Street on International Women’s Day to share our work! We’ve also been championed by local MP and Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly.

We are currently exploring sources of funding and partnerships, and are looking forward to holding workshops in schools and other clubs and organisations in the future, including with Essex Football Association!

If you want to find out more and join our growing community, we want to hear from you!
